Asuria
Outline of the Organisation
Asuria is a leading Australian employment and skills services provider dedicated to helping people find meaningful work and build long-term career pathways. Established in 2016, Asuria partners with the Australian Government to deliver a range of workforce programs designed to support job seekers, employers, and communities.
The organisation specialises in employment services such as Workforce Australia, Disability Employment Services, Self Employment Application program and training and skills development programs. Asuria takes a personalised, strengths-based approach, working closely with individuals to understand their goals, identify barriers to employment, and provide tailored support. This may include career coaching, job readiness training, vocational education, and connections to local employers.
For businesses, Asuria offers recruitment support, candidate matching, and ongoing assistance to ensure successful placements. The organisation also focuses on supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, long-term unemployed individuals, youth, and culturally diverse communities.
With a strong national presence and deep local community connections, Asuria aims to create sustainable employment outcomes that benefit individuals, employers, and the broader economy. Its mission is to improve lives through meaningful work, fostering independence, confidence, and social participation.
Value / Support Offered to Small Businesses
Asuria’s Self-Employment Assistance program supports individuals to start, develop, or grow their own small business as a pathway to sustainable employment. Funded through Workforce Australia, the program is designed for people with a viable business idea or an existing small business who are seeking the skills, confidence, and guidance to become successfully self-employed.
Participants can access a range of flexible services tailored to their needs. These include a five-day Exploring Self-Employment Workshop, accredited small business training, and one-on-one support to develop a practical and viable business plan. Ongoing personalised mentoring is provided by experienced Business Mentors for up to 12 months, helping participants refine their strategy, manage challenges, and build the capabilities required to operate a sustainable business.
Eligible participants may also receive financial assistance, including a Self-Employment Allowance for up to 39 weeks and rental assistance for a limited period, along with reimbursement for certain start-up costs. While the program does not provide business capital, it focuses on building strong foundations, improving business skills, and supporting long-term success.
Through practical training, expert guidance, and ongoing support, Asuria’s Self-Employment Assistance program helps turn business ideas into viable, independent livelihoods
