West North West Working

Outline of the Organisation

West North West Working is part of the Tasmanian Government’s Regional Jobs Hub Network, supported by Jobs Tasmania, Department of State Growth. From Sheffield to Strahan and every community in between, WNWW is focused on supporting the people, businesses, and industries of King Island, the North West, and the West Coast. We take the time to listen and respond to each community’s unique needs. Our Regional Business & Industry Officer is missioned to support business in their recruitment, retention and capacity building. This may look like one-on-one support, running workshops or just supporting those looking for a bit more business guidance.

For individuals, there are many different paths leading to employment, education and training and we know there may be many roadblocks. We are committed to supporting individuals seeking work as they deal with these obstacles. We establish strong foundations with business, industry, community, and education and training providers to connect individuals seeking work, upskilling, or retraining with employers on the West Coast, North West Coast, and King Island. Our Local Engagement Officers offer support to individuals through, one on one support to group workshops. Support is nuanced to the individual or group. By engaging our community in respectful and purposeful conversations we empower individuals to participate in the labour market by supporting growth and development.
