Luna IT
Outline of the Organisation
Luna IT is a Tasmania-based software consultancy founded by Alastair Taft, dedicated to bridging the gap between complex technology and local business needs.
With a focus on Software Architecture and Custom Development, we help organisations build the tools they need to scale. We pride ourselves on being approachable, local, and deeply invested in the success of the Tasmanian business ecosystem. Whether it’s building a custom client portal, integrating disparate systems via APIs, or automating a paper-heavy workflow, Luna IT provides the high-level engineering expertise usually reserved for big-city firms, delivered with local Tasmanian service.
Value / Support Offered to Small Businesses
Small businesses often hit a “glass ceiling” where off-the-shelf software no longer fits their growing needs, but hiring a full-time developer is out of reach. Luna IT fills this gap by acting as a fractional Software Architect and Lead Developer.
At the expo, our value proposition is centred on education and accessibility. We understand that many small business owners feel overwhelmed by technical jargon. To support them, we are offering free technical software advice. This allows owners to bring their most frustrating tech problem, be it a slow website, should they build an app? Should they go offshore? What is possible for their business? And receive an immediate, expert opinion on the best path forward.
Our goal is to empower Tasmanian business owners with the same level of custom automation and data intelligence used by much larger competitors. By providing clear, actionable advice without the sales pressure, we aim to help local businesses save time, reduce human error, and ultimately become more competitive.
