We’re bringing back the Tasmanian Small Business Expo in 2026, expanding it be a statewide event (including coming to the North West Coast!) – and we’ve chosen even larger venues to help allow more supporters of Tasmanian small business to be involved.

The Tasmanian Small Business Expo is all about giving small business owners, entrepreneurs, and supporters what they need most: practical insights, meaningful connections, and access to resources that make running a business easier.

And if you are reading this page, then you believe you can be some of the experienced voices, solvers of problems faced by business owners, supporters and encouragers of those who are looking to start, showcaser of tools to support operations and much more – and we would love to see you use the Tasmanian Small Business Expo as a platform to engage, connect and support.

Our 2026 Tasmanian Small Business Expo builds on what we have delivered in Hobart (since 2024) and Launceston (since 2025), we’re excited to sustain the event to bring together more business owners and those exploring small business – and for the first time in 2026, we’re bringing the event to the North West Coast too!

To keep the event free and cover venue and marketing costs, there is a small charge for having a stall, based on the type of support that you offer;

Supporters of Small Business (includes government funded programs and other eligible organisations)
$75 for one location | $125 for two locations | $150 for all three (all prices listed are ex GST)

All Other Organisations
$175 for one location | $300 for two locations | $350 for all three (all prices listed are ex GST)

All stallholders will be provided with a trestle table and limited floor space to display a banner and other materials, and table clothes can be provided upon request (if the venue has them on hand).

This small contribution helps us to ensure that the Tasmanian Small Business Expo remains a free event to engage with as many people as possible.

Tasmanian Small Business Expo

The Tasmanian Small Business Expo is the connection event for small business owners, entrepreneurs, people dreaming of starting a business, and future business professionals from all over Tasmania.

This free event is filled with helpful exhibitors to help you with questions and guidance in your business journey, access to government support and expert advice that is available to all Tasmanians, understanding of digital strategies and leading techniques to apply in your business and to build your network. In 2026, we’ll be running three events across the state, reaching;

Monday March 16 in Devonport at the Market Square Pavillion, Oldaker Street.
Tuesday March 17 in Launceston at Due Cane Brewing Hall, Elizabeth Street.
Thursday March 19 in Hobart at Hobart City Hall, Macquarie Street.

After confirming the space, our organisation / business will pay the stallholder fee before the event. I acknowledge that the fee is to help cover the costs of the venue and event costs to help businesses engage in this event for free.

Eligibility of the stallholder categories is based on the discretion of The van Diemen Project as the coordinator of the event, with the focus on encouraging free / low-cost support to be presented to businesses to help them have confidence in overcoming challenges and being resilient.

The Tasmanian Small Business Expo, and the collaborating partners, acknowledge the Tasmanian Aboriginal People as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, learn and work.
